Keep It Short And Simple
The following rules, although not comprehensive, can be applied to just about any form of marketing you may do, from print to outdoor, even on the web.
- Use a unique headline.
- Keep copy short and to the point.
- Include contact information wherever practical. (Phone numbers only work on outdoor advertising if they are memorable, like an alphanumeric 800 number, i.e. 1-800-SILVERPENNY. People don't stop to jot down a phone number.)
- Use strong images to capture your audience's attention.
- Keep layouts practical and user-friendly.
I know this seems like obvious advice, but I've seen too many billboards with 50+ words to believe everybody "keeps it simple." If you need some help following the K.I.S.S. Principal on your next marketing project, contact me.
